Cries of Mbeliling, Mountain Near Labuan Bajo, Komodo

No body knows
I am the great anchestor
of this, my gigantic homeland
I gave birth to children
from generation to generation
Under my foot
rich and abundant water
flow down in rivers and streams
twisting among villages and
thousands of bed rice fields
The story of luxurious past
is now swallowed up
The time has changed my face
and no much water to fetch with bamboos
for the night's dinner
Fingers of dense trees wandering
around my home
with nests of birds were
perching on calmly and
peacefully, but
all have gone away
The golden songs of birds
were eaten up
by the crazy sounds
of sawmill, roaring in the air.
